FAQ – Empty Container Dehire VBS

Why are some VBS charges prepaid?

Empty container dehire depots require Vehicle Booking System (VBS) bookings to be paid upfront at the time of booking. These charges are imposed by third-party depot operators and must be settled before dehire access is granted.

Where applicable, empty dehire VBS charges are treated as pass-through costs and may be invoiced separately from standard freight and cartage services. In some cases, prepayment or shortened payment terms may apply to reflect the prepaid nature of the cost.

No. This applies only to empty container dehire depot VBS charges and does not change existing service arrangements or base pricing.
